We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free, where you can visit some of Athens’ famous sights or just relax. Overnight in Athens.
After breakfast we will discover this capital city’s historic heart on a sightseeing tour of Athens. See reminders of a long and glorious past set amid graceful temples, centuries-old monasteries and ornate Byzantine churches: The Acropolis, the Parthenon, said to be the most perfectly proportioned building of all time; The Erectheion with its Porch of the Maidens, Temple of Athena Nike and the Wingless Victory; The Agora below the Acropolis with its theaters like Dionysus and Herodus Atticus. Overnight in Athens.
After breakfast we will drive to Meteora, Kalambaka. Admire the fantastic landscapes of Meteora, known as “the rocks that fell from the sky”. Walking through the monasteries’ rock-top towns and singing monks, you will discover unique architecture and interior frescoes dating back to the 14th century. Only four of these monasteries remain active today. Overnight in Kalambaka.
After breakfast we will drive to Ohrid, North Macedonia. Ohrid is a lakeside resort in Macedonia with an ancient history, beautiful architecture and stunning natural surroundings. It is an important cultural and spiritual center. Start sightseeing with a walk through the cobblestone streets of the old town, which are home to many churches and monasteries. Visit the Cathedral of St. Sofia, St John at Kaneo, Old Town. Overnight in Ohrid.
After breakfast we will drive to Tirana. Tirana sightseeing tour takes you to home of George Kastrioti Skanderbeg, who led the Albanian people against the Ottoman invaders. See Sheshi Skenderbej (Skanderbeg Square) and the Mosque of Ethem Bey, the clock tower and more. Then visit the Palace of Culture and the National History Museum with a mosaic on its façade portraying Albanian history. Your afternoon is free to continue exploring on your own, shop, or simply relax. Overnight in Tirana.
After breakfast, we start our journey towards Shkodra. The town is nowadays a major cultural center and was taken by the Romans in 168 B.C. We will see of the Rozafa Castle, magnificently situated on a rocky outcrop of limestone high above the city, before we cross the border to Montenegro and drive to Tivat. Overnight in Tivat.
After breakfast, we will start the journey to Dubrovnik. On the way you are going to see Kotor Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean and UNESCO heritage site, founded by Greek colonists around 6th century BC. We will stop for an orientation tour of old town Kotor which is famous for its fortification walls and bell tower built upon a rock. Continue to Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Enjoy a walking tour of Old Dubrovnik, including the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and Sponza Palace. Visit the Dominican Monastery, one of the oldest in the world, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. After that there is plenty of free time to explore on your own, take a cable ride to mount Srd or a boat ride to Lokrum island. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
After breakfast we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage and other historical sites including Jupiter’s Temple, Peristyle and Cathedral. The rest of your day is at leisure to stroll through this beautiful city. Overnight in Split.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
